I wanted to make it easier for myself to search back through my history of intervals so I went back through my history and changed all occurances of things like 800s, 800m 6x800 etc to make sure the 800 was standalone.
This has backfired terribly and now I can't find anything. When I do a log search for something like 800 I find nothing, even when I did some intervals today!
Any ideas on how I can fix this, or what search term I can use to find my intervals again?
The problem is that words of 3 characters or less are not indexed for search. you can find 1200, or 800m, but not 800.
I realize this now makes it harder to change those instances again, sorry about that.
I was wondering if it would be possible to search your log based on the "workout" input you give it?
One possible solution to your problem is to export your entire log as a CSV file and use the 'find' capability in a text editor or a spreadsheet. This isn't really practical for daily use, but if you're looking to analyze your log after some period, it is a straightforward option.

I went for the excel approach, thanks.
I'll remember to check that the changes work before I change everything again!
If you want to go back and change them to 800m, at least you know where the entries are now.
I think it would be really awesome to have a workout "form" that you could fill in if you wanted, and then could query across forms if you wanted to look at how your 800m interval times were improving over the years, or degrading over the years, depending on where you are in life =). It could be mostly hidden unless you wanted to query it, so that the workout looks the same in your log, but you're updating a micro-database inside of your own larger training database.
Well, I guess one possible solution is to use the "route" function. That certainly makes it possible to compare over time with just a single click.
If it´s just the distance you´re after and not the actual route of course. Running the same distance - like 800 or 3000 - on different tracks would still be comparable.
I went for the excel approach, thanks.
No one should be saying this any longer. Keep your sanity.
Cool visual analytics tool. there is a free desktop version:

Well, I was just using excel to find the emntries so I could append the m back onto the end of them to make them searchable again. It was more than suitable for this.
Maybe something like that would be nice for doing big analysis, (I was thinking about a personal TRIMP!), but that's for another day.
What it comes to exports, just recently I exported of my
latest 500 training sessions near my home as gpx. Pretty cool, images like that would never happened without AP because I use so many different kind gps devices. AP supports nicely them all (and it is easy to build support if needed).
Just run the sessions again?
This may take longer than the excel approach, but it will give you more training benefit.
Add your own race on AP and put in all your 'splits' over time. That'll compare them all very neatly.
acjospe there is also the
running link under racing that lists all the trainings you mark as races.
Ken, how do you get items to show up int he "running" link? I have marked several items as "races" in my log, but they don't show up in my list of races under this link. These are my 100 m sprints, so maybe it doesn't recognize the distance?
Currently, 400m is the minimum distance shown under the running performances list.
@ Delyn, I want something other than the race tab. I'm not running intervals at race pace, I just want to compare over time. I suppose adding each distance or workout as a route might work, if I were doing the same workout each time. Maybe this is just too complicated to show in a good way.
