coach: It's just getting broken in. My friend has a Golf with 200K+.
My lowest mile Volvo has 210K, my highest 403K miles.
Keep it.

jjcote: Yeah, I was going to say something along these lines, too. My Pontiac (Pontiac!) has about 165000, and I consider it to be still pretty new. My Toyota got 271000 before I sold it, and I spotted it a few months later, registered and apparently still going. Nancy is driving a Subaru with 280000... but that one's really getting to be a rag. It's the transmission that's going to bury it — she's down to 3.5 gears (out of an original 5), and there are too many other problems to make tranny work a reasonable move. 100000? Pffft! It's an adolescent.

PBricker: That's the problem: it shouldn't be acting old. I'm expecting to get at least another 50,000 miles. But I'm worried that VW's don't have the long-term reliability of Toyotas or Hondas. (Other than the Passat, our last four cars have been Hondas.) I've had to have it towed to the shop twice this year, once an engine problem, this time a "brake booster", not what I call dependable. Fortunately, I wasn't heading to or from some o-meet or race when I had the trouble.
