I assume that most of them came to WC and run B-Final because they live close to WC event area or they choose to participate at some other o-events.

What I know IOF gives to runners through WC “experience” at top level. Is this enough for runners to run only WC B-Final? Some big WRE organisers also give free starting fee for national teams or training possibilities during the week, etc, so I can’t see any big difference between B-Final and high class WRE events and it would be nice to hear some of the B runners what could they say about their motivation to run B-final.

when the field is so competitive as in the middle distance in europe, very good runners can have a bad mistake on the qual and miss out, therefore you can still find good competition in a B final and beating one of the good runners is always good motivation!.

i don't think that is what he means...

in norway you there was only one race, with an A and a B final. you had to qualify either at Jukola or by world ranking points. there was no competition in the B final. i don't understand why anyone would go and run this, you can gert mcuh better competition at Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swiss national races plus big WRE's in Iberia.
