Is there anyone by any chance flying into the Seattle airport on Friday who has space in their car for one person and a single suitcase? I am flexible with respect to time, as I haven't booked my airline tickets yet... Thanks!

Can't really help, but you could also be picked up by some Seattleites - the lightrail goes to Seattle center and it would not be hard for them to pick you up there.

M, talk to me this weekend. We haven't booked tickets yet either, but are planning to go within your timeframe. The big thing last year was the insane backup on 99 south of Fraser River. We took the second flight of the day, stopped to eat somewhere Everett-ish, then got stuck in the traffic and missed the last Friday session by like an hour. It seems that if backups are still occuring, it has to be the first flight of the day, 6 am, or else Thursday if you want your Friday evening session.

Hwy 99 crossing the Fraser is a 4-lane (2/direction) tunnel that goes to 3-1 in favor of the peak direction -- which is not northbound (toward Vancouver) on Friday afternoons/evenings.

There are other ways to cross...
The closest to 99 is Hwy 91 and the 3-lanes/direction -- at all times -- Alex Fraser Bridge.
