Well, certainly cause for concern, because at that rate of improvement, you will be running a 5-minute mile after 18 more sessions. A PR, if I recall.
If he's going to do a five-minute mile, a treadmill may be the most likely place.

I'd say the odds of running Boston are at most 25%. Unlikely, but not (yet) zero.
