How rude. I lived there for 10 years (well Lima East, to be precise).l went there today to visit an old man living in a shack. Good potential untapped O country too.
You clearly haven't been to Dargo.

In fairness, Lima South was someone else's suggestion. Licola was mine, although I'll agree that Dargo has at least some of the same qualities.

I am not disagreeing with your suggestion of Lima South. Most people there thought it was the centre of the universe

Lightning Ridge. No-one would thank you for mapping it. The terrain up the ridge Strathbogie side could be interesting for those who like navigate through the green challenges. Potentially pleasant in the pine forest to the west.
As for backwaters, we took a roundabout Mallee trip after also failing to find the Peta Credlin statue. We detoured into Chinkapook. I doubt Lima South, Dargo, Benambra or others come anywhere near in the backwater stakes.

I had a look at it around 2007 when we were looking at possible 2009 nationals sites, and concluded that it could support a tough elite race (perhaps a WOC long qualifier if WOC were ever in northeast Victoria), but that the everyday punters wouldn't enjoy it.
