Promotions Officer: Orienteering New Brunswick

Orienteering New Brunswick (ONB) is seeking to fill the position of promotions officer .

Duties:
Promoting the sport of orienteering and orienteering events in New Brunswick using a variety of methods including email, social media and other media and approaches;
Designing, developing and delivering marketing activities and approaches that promote orienteering in New Brunswick
Assisting with maintaining the ONB Calendar of Events, web site and Facebook page;
Contributing to and managing website improvements;
Assisting with marketing and other member activities as required.
This is a part time position (1-2 days per week on average).

Qualifications:

Essential: Relevant experience promoting sporting or similar activities. Valid driving license. Ability to speak and write with a high degree of competency in English. Competency with word processing, email communications, and social media interactions. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including communications by phone.

Desirable:
Ability to speak and write in both English and French.
Presentation skills. Competency with design and layout software.

Location/residency:
The candidate must be resident in New Brunswick or be willing to relocate to New Brunswick for the duration of employment in the position.

Probation:
Establishment will be probationary pending a review of performance after three months. Assuming satisfactory performance, an extension of up to one year may be confirmed.

Reporting:
The position will report directly to the president of ONB.

Rate of pay:
$15 CAD per hour.

Expenses:
Approved travel and other expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with ONB policy.

Term:
June 1, 2015 (or upon appointment) to March 31, 2016.
