Oh, I absolutely agree.

I'm guessing however that he has a bit more experience than the current lot in crossing the aisle to get things done? Obviously when he was Governor I had zero interest in US politics, so I could be very wrong!

Perhaps I should clarify that what makes a Republican credible in my deeply liberal eyes is not the same as what makes a Republican credible to the current party!

Good link Janet, it's terrifying and fascinating all at the same time.

Despite 2012's experience, I'm wondering if a moderate Republican can even get the nomination this year. Someone needs to remind the GOP of the bell curve; most of the current crop seem to be on the fringe/edges rather than in the middle.

I almost can't wait for it all to really begin, I also know it's going to be a very depressing though occasionally hilarious experience. I'm just hoping the US public do a better job than the British just did.

Don't you mean the English? - the Scottish public did a pretty good job of removing deadwood and replacing it with new motivated, non-political (small P) people. 2 surgeons, several teachers etc - normal jobs in the real world......
