I spotted an
article today that was featured on the front page of Wikipedia, and did a double-take -- I had no idea your mother was so accomplished at cricket before she got married. :-)

Her sports were skiing (both alpine and XC), tennis, golf, and a bit of basketball. No cricket that I know of.
