Discussion: SI ConfigPlus and backup

We have BSM7-P (black RS232) SI print station and BSM7 USB red station and I am experimenting with the new SI ConfigPlus software.

The old SI Config is being retired according to the End-of-Life announcement here:
And it is not on the list of downloads any longer.

The problem is that I am not able to read backup from the station using the new ConfigPlus, I updated to the latest firmware and driver, and it connects fine to the station, but when I press "Backup" it says "The operation failed. Reading complete cards from backup memory is not supported yet.", and when I press "View punch" it says "This device or its configuration do not allow to view punches".

"Read cards" works with the USB station but not with the printout station.

Anybody knows what's going on here? I still have the old SI config and it works but what if I do not have the old software and want to use the SI printer set without computer in the field, and then read backups from the black station after the event?

John O:
SportIdent should not be phasing out the old SIConfig when the Config+ does not support all the old features.

SportIdent UK still has the last SIConfig version

CUOC have a few copies of SIConfig on their website:

The latest SPORTident newsletter addresses this:
"Full support of backup memory reading for all SPORTident devices" is a documented outstanding issue for SI Config+.
A direct link is provided for the last release of SI Config (

Probably a good idea to sign up for the newsletter -

Yep, apparently it's coming. Great to know.

The version now available 0.8.13 has backup memory reading (older versions may indicate an update is available).

However it didn't find one device that SIConfig could find (printer station connected via serial-to-usb).
