This is only the sixth year of the SML champs, not enough time for the old folks to lose interest in the classic.

As for the low turnout in Tahoe, it's my opinion that non-summer west coast A meets get lower attendance than northeast A meets.

I am sure that the west coast location is a big factor this year, especially with so many other events this fall in the NE

I would really have liked to attend but had already agreed to help at the annual DVOA training weekend at Hickory Run. It does seem like this fall is really busy.

I love the Classic format! And I'm not old! ;-)

I too still love the Classic. It emphasizes consistency, which I think is cool.

Agree that the location made it harder to draw a huge crowd. If I were still single (and not injured), I'd probably be there (I love Tahoe terrain!) but it's not practical to get all 4 of us out there, especially since we'd have had to take the kids out of school for it. (As it is, we're only making one A meet this fall ... plus the Highlander ... which is kind of sad but the reality of life right now.)

We would have gone if they would have stuck with the original date (last weekend). We were in charge of the corn maze yesterday and my favorite street scramble of the year is today. (And SART is next weekend, another reason to be in town).

I love going to Tahoe though! I don't hate the Classic format, really. I just prefer SML.

Classic is fun and I think it would be great for masters champs, with SML champs as one giant open champs event (just senior and junior classes).

Speaking of timing, people in Tahoe who picked up the 2016 US Champs/NAOC Champs ads were discussing how it'll be hard to get families with kids to them because of the timing with the school year (back to back weekends in late September). It's too bad NAOC isn't on a long weekend (for the location it wasn't possible because of Dartmouth homecoming, I think).

I didn't see the flyer for the 2016 classic champs. Where and when? I saw SML in Morgan Territory in March.

There were some on the refreshment table during results. I don't know if they forgot to put them out earlier, but that was the first I saw them this weekend.

It was a combined "postcard" with NAOC on one side, US Champs on the other. US Two day classic will be at Ward Pound Ridge in NY, the weekend before NAOC in Hanover, NH. They'll be appearing at future A meets.

Morgan Territory? Really? A bit premature.

George, they did say it was pending OUSA approval
