Our sprint event on Monday was billed as 2.9km but my GPS had it as 2.79km, despite taking the long route around a building and overshooting another route. There was nothing in the way of canopies on that map.

With all my time off there's a greater chance I'll get the Garvey Park map done (Hyde Park permitting) and I've always wanted to map Belmont SHS too - even though it's not a huge venue, it has many surprises. If it could be joined to the next door Cloverdale PS. That'd make it bigger although there aren't many access points between the two.

Today's sprint is 1:4000 on an A5 sheet so tiny but we have a map exchange midway.

From memory the APS/ASHS map is about the same size as John 23rd in Claremont, with a bit more consistent detail since half the latter map is ovals.

I had assumed today's course would utilise the Ballarat Clarendon College in addition to St Pat's given this info but it was just the one school, hence why we had a teeny tiny map. It was a very uncomplex event, which didn't stop me from mispunching.

I might have an old Belmont map lying around somewhere (I worked there in 2003) but have a funny feeling I might have binned it.

What good are you?

My Grand Plan is to add on the park across the road (there is plenty of good stuff there although controls would need to be locked on) but that would involve a Major Road Crossing.

@tRicky You would probably know that you can set up SI to knock out a split so you can have a safe road crossing which isn't contributing to the time. Just have to staff it, both for safety and to ensure people don't spend a lot of time route planning.

Yes I realise this but it's not really a viable option for one of our local events. Stupid local council would probably want a certified traffic management controller or some such.

Anyway I have to knock over this stupid Hyde Park sprint map plus all the other maps I'm working on before commencing something new just yet!
