Discussion: Phatty's shifting

Oh, I forgot to mention that Phatty's bike tune got worse and worse as the race went on. On the last big ride, it sounded like it was grinding itself apart and we were just waiting for it to explode. He nursed it so much and must have put so much extra energy into doing so. The chain would shift into the spokes and at one time got wedged behind the cassette so badly that both Phatty and JYD were pulling on the chain as hard as they could and couldn't get it out. This was after the ferry crossing where we heard O-Store come into the CP just as we were getting back onto our bikes on the other side of the river. I'm guessing we would have been 10 minutes ahead of them. OMG, we don't have time for this!!!!
