O Steve!: what will be the time limit for the event?...how long?....I hope to be able to do the long and make the cutoff...but that may be a challenge in that terrain....although with all the trails through the area now...ojibwe, ski trails, new birkie classic trail thre might be enough trail running and attack points to keep a decent pace....

iriharding: we will wait til spring 2008 and see what remains of any folks who have taken a little extra time on the 2007 Minne-WiscGoat .....

Jerritt: We could just put a TA in near the Birkie Trail and wait for them in Downtown Hayward in Late February.

pfc: The full course is 15.4 km, 28 controls, 2 skips. You can easily cut off a km with the skips. There are plenty of opportunities for trail running, but at a extra distance penalty. There's a handful of legs that are almost intermediate level, as well as some very difficult ones. I expect a winning time near 2:30 with a 10-11 mpk pace. Last Telemark event, Owen ran in the low 9's and most regular runners were under 18 (which would give a 4:12 'Goat time.)

I plan on a 5 hour time limit - start at 10 AM, off course by 3 PM. I took just under 5 hours to scout the locations and hang all the tape, moving about a third of the controls in the process. I also attacked most of them from two or more directions.

The short course cuts out controls 14-23 and is about 10 km - but only 1 skip allowed. It's designed so you can switch to the short course mid-race (as long as you haven't skipped 2 yet!)
