Yep, those big cogs are nice. Loving the 42 on the back of my 1x11 (28T up front). Seems to give all the range I need, and even did the job for the road sections of WT (only slightly topped out for about four brief moments)

I have a lot more useable gears on the Kodiak than the BBW 3x9 for trails for sure.
Just ordered a 40t.

What do you have on the front of the Kodiak? I assume you will be 11-40 on the back.

'Bent:

38-28 up front, 11-40 in back.

The BBW has 44-33-22 up front, 11-34 back right now.
