Just wondering if anyone has a spare PFD I could borrow for anaconda next weekend? I promise it will get well used.

Will also happily borrow a flare if anyone has a spare of that too

Otherwise going shopping this weekend :)

Pop down and you can borrow ours. At least we'll get a new flare out of it...

cost more in petrol doing a round trip to yours than buying brand new kit :)

Thanks but looking for something more local ahah :)

I have a PFD you can use. It has pockets for food too.

Bear in mind that Tash's PFD is pink.

As luck would have it, I have the required smoke flare for you to borrow. It's very much out of date but they won't check that.

I know you're going to Spooks becaue Bryce jnr has been talking about it for weeks so we can give you the stuff there.

Haha, found the flare in my car under the driver's seat, which is where I think it's been since the last solo Anaconda I did (three years ago now).

For your interest, Tash's PFD doesn't let you put a bladder in it. Would you prefer one that did? Mine allows a 2L bladder (I know how much you drink) and is yellow rather than bright pink. It's bulkier than Tash's but also has some netting pockets for food.

Haters gonna hate. Yes my PDF is fluro Pink. Wear it and everyone will weep when you paddle past.

But - no room for a bladder pack - only front pockets hand-sewn in, adventure racing style, for food.

Pink doesnt put me off - nor does the lack of bladder - however given im a fair bit taller than tash and much closer to your height - yours is more likely to fit better would be my guess - with the added benefit of yellow and water - and flare - woot!

what times best to come via spooks to grab off you?

I have one too - it's a "girls" cut kayak one but it would probably work :-). It is 15-20 years old but in good condition. It has a Canadian label not an AUS one if they check those things. Let me know if you need it cause Ricky's doesn't fit (BTW - it is black and purple).

Haha, organisers 'checking' mandatory gear at Augusta.

Bryce, no time would be good at Spooks but we're there all day although Tash has taken the lot now I see so she'll probably go to your place today.

Why will tash send us an email?

She's very sociable.

The year I did it they 'checked' the mandatory gear on the run (ie anyone who had no pack at all got pinged. My alfoil around cardboard emergency blanket was never checked)
