There were some really tough, slippery climbs and descents in there! It would have been much easier in summer when you could see your feet. Congrats!

At least it was daylight for that ~9k section where the 25k event started! Whew! I can't imagine how much slower I would be in the dark (if that is possible).

I kept thinking that if this was an AR or O-meet, I would've made different route choices.....ones that didn't involved climbing and descending the steepest parts of the terrain, repeatedly! In fact, hiking right alongside (or in) the Maitland River was looking like a good idea a few times (I had lots of time to think out there :) ). But it was a Trail Race, so the trail it was.

I hear ya! At Trans Rockies I was constantly thinking where did I drop my map? Wait, it's a trail race. Why can't I cut across that field? Wait, it's a trail race...yup that thinking for 60 miles.

Myself and the two girls I ran with were lantern rouge in the 50k! That was a tough course for sure. Sorry I missed you! :-)
