I'm trying to think of what you'd say about these Royals and Bill James. There would be a huge amount that James would have hated about the recent Royals, although this year's offence was much more balanced and productive.

Is Mike Kopf still a local KC writer?

I have no idea what Mike Kopf is up to.

The 1980s/90s Bill James might have hated some aspects of the Royals. But the current Bill James would find a lot to like. I think he'd even have some good things to say about Ned Yost.

Like Denmark, the Royals had a plan for talent identification and using resources well.

Like Denmark, the Royals had an extremely good 2014 and then did even better in 2015.

Like Denmark, the Royals realized that there is a place in the sport for really fast runners.

The Royals only had 1 more home run trot in the World Series than Denmark did at WOC.

Also, the Danes had the same number of at-bats as Johnny Gomes!

The Danes had fewer errors than Daniel Murphy!

From Bill James on the Royals: " I think what they have done in the last three or four years is brilliant."

How's KC going into the off-season? Any major turnover suspected, I bet many teams will be eyeing the Royals bullpen for people to move into bigger roles.

Gordon is a free agent. I think Zobrist might be, too. I'd like to see Gordon stay in KC, but I doubt it'll make financial sense. Zobrist is mid-30s. He's a good player, but you wouldn't want to spend a lot for him.

I don't pay too much attention to off season stuff. I think the last time I did was when the Royals signed Mike Sweeney (which was the time when I realized that the Royals management was not trying to win).
