That's what the IOF mapping rules say, although the mapper has some freedom to move if it helps make things clearer...

In most instances in the terrain, an uncrossable wall looks very different to the edge of a paved area.

Are you sure the edge of the paved area in Sprint maps is 0.3 - the rules say 0.07 or 0.14 in non-urban areas. So should be distinguishable from 0.4.

my mistake - i meant that to be a (passable) rock face... fixed now. i got the dimensions here

haha spot on tRicky, but interestingly it doesn't matter how it looks in the terrain, if it's uncrossable on the map then you get a DSQ for crossing it - ask TDH ;)

Yep agree with you there, very hard to distinguish those two and may not be able to spot something impassable on course. Funny that Tooms makes comment on it in today's log.

Haha yeah an advantage not knowing the rules... I'm gonna start forgetting rules ;) Let's see if I can be free by the sprint nol races in Melbourne next year. Will need more single malt.
