You may be right about #5, but you have to be careful to avoid being stuck in the green west of the smaller clearing, have to go just north of that.

Upd: he was on Green though, I forgot that.

Well Alex was relatively quick on 54-55 either way, so whatever his route was must have been solid.

When I did it (sort of) for pickup, and I came from the clearing and entered the woods at that rocky reentrant (also has a big downed tree) just NE of the circle, which seemed to work well.
