I have a set of reflectors if people want to borrow them. I have always wanted to do a flag less event with just the reflectors.

The FVO night events use the standard SI cane with a reflector wrapped around the top, only about 6cm x 1cm, but you can usually see them from about 30m (which I think is about fair).

Bok unfortunately have the big alu stakes that weight a tone. They would not stack will with reflector tape around them.

Personally now I can not run quickly no reflectors is fine as you have to go in carefully for point features. With reflectors I think you can change your style to attack a bit looser and just keep swinging your head around unless the flag is liable to be low like a pit or gully or in dark green.

Had thought I'd hung controls quite high - many were visible from paths in the daylight. NGOC has home made plastic stakes but not really keen to have to carry reflectors out as well - could be possible to permanently attach reflectors on the sides as not going to make big difference in daylight...?

The FVO system uses reflective tape that is wrapped around the top of the cane, so actually less to put out as no flag is needed. It's the same colour as the cane so you don't notice it on day events.
