Some year, I'll bet you'd enjoy volunteering at an expedition race in a suitably interesting location.

This ARWC was an interesting one. It's often easier to follow these races from home but this year the media was even more isolated from the race than usual so our collective detective work helped to follow what was going on.

At the highest level, the rankings in these events translate to prize money, sponsorship, points in the World Series, etc. I'm glad the top 3 teams were unquestionably the top 3 teams. After that, it's a mess, which is too bad.

I think just about any location would make for an interesting experience. It's on my list of things to explore. After a small number of months lazing about getting some EMT training is near the top. It might be useful for many of the things I'm interested in.

I agree. I've been thinking about renewing my Wilderness First Aid and maybe taking it up a notch to a more serious program.
