What's your take on the 50? Plans to do another?
I hope so. I found it to be more like adventure racing than I expected. That is, from a mental perspective and pacing with a similarly laid back group of participants. A very friendly atmosphere. Not to minimize the difficulty, but I felt much better at the end of the 50 than I did at the end of the Council Bluff Half.
But then, I was not running the 50 at 'max' effort either.
and in the half you were 7th too. Did any of the people who finished the half also run the 50, so you could compare your relative times? (had to really hunt around for those results, not on the ORRL webpage w the others, but only linked thru FB) Thats just the competetive me, lots of other reasons to do events, i realize.
no idea. I wasn't pushing the pace, so I'm not sure there's much info in comparing to somebody who was pushing the pace. Tunnel Hill was an experiment and the only person I was racing against was Me. Next time, if there is one, I go with a crew and (if it's Tunnel Hill) will be looking for a sub-9 finish.
thx for the note, Rudy, i have updated the ORRL and registration pages with the 2015 results and photos!
