Had a PT tell me no more SU until 2 weeks before my APFT, and then only in small sets without having my feet held. You might try looking for stretches for the rectus femoris. My favorite is the couch stretch, works wonders...

Nice, thanks. I think it was the feet holding that really killed me. Been trying to strengthen my glutes too to balance it out a bit.
