Hah! You guys both trying to avoid the other, a bit like two bulls in the same paddock.

3-12 and 16-21 were on my shortest route. Measured in OCAD this was 8179, while Sten's route was 8200 (and was the second-shortest that I'd measured), but the OCAD measurement always comes out longer because it doesn't allow for corner cutting across verges at road intersections.

The shortest route with no. 2 in it was 8220, and was almost identical to my route, with 2 instead of 16. Sten's route with 2 instead of 16 would be 8241.

Did Sten cut corners? I demand a recount.

Cutting corners is allowed provided you stay in the council area of the verge and don't trample any vegetation. I bet you cut them too. On a lot of corners the owners tend to fence their boundary anyway. When measuring in OCAD I use a line that goes through the junction and not across corners.

Did Sten carry a GPS, is that even legal?
