In 1985 Kooyoora was still used for cattle grazing, and a lot of the flatter white areas in the middle part of the map were lightning fast; the only part of Kooyoora which is like that now is the far western section (not on the 1985 map).

Rob Walter ran the 1985 course in 2001 (as a test run for WMOC 2002 kilometre rates) and did about 110. Rob was pretty close to his peak in 2001 and I would have expected him to do sub-100 if the terrain was truly similar (I think Kari Sallinen's winning time was around 86-87?), so that gives an indication as to how much the terrain has slowed.

Uncle JiM:
Olli-Markus ran it on Christmas day last year

Don't know his time, as his watch stopped early on

The feedback I had got before was that it has slowed up so I sort of knew what to expect. The bits we were mostly still pretty good but yeah there are definitely bits that are pretty tough to get through now.
