You could walk and jog your way through the shuttle run and easily pass their cut-off of the 50th percentile. 10.something from memory.
You *can* walk through the agility run and make it under the time! (I filmed myself doing that back when I worked for WAPS). It's altered a bit now, but actually become easier.
Well the agility run is ~60m (end-to-end so excluding all the zig zagging) so it's unlikely I'd be able to walk it but I've done it at O training in the past so know how it works. You could probably take two steps from end to end with your tall frame so could do it under the time!
I think the beep test is 9.something for us older 30+ year olds. It's 10.something for those of younger status and 8.something for 40+. With luck they'll let me keep going until I've burned off all the other applicants (Fletch style).
Ah, the agility run is a new thing then. It used to be an obstacle course type affair - wall, fence, window, high fence, lift a dummy into a paddy wagon etc.
Depends how much I eat that day.
There are other tests and apparently what you've described used to be what they do but not anymore.
Now it involves sitting in an office chair for 4 hours while consuming doughnuts and soft drink every half hour, followed by a quick transition into sitting in a panda car in their mock-up street scene at the Academy in Joodalup where you have to drive around the block and order takeaway hamburgers and coffees according to a strict schedule.
