Sounds like you contained it pretty well. It's hard to imagine that much work on 300 calories. Managing pizza an hour later sounds like a win to me.

I wish I could eat more, but after my stomach started to go evey sip of Tailwind was followed by burping and nausea. I think I could have had a bit more powder in the water. I saw one guy finish the 50 mile well, then just walk over to the pizza tent and order one. I needed an hour to face any food, and only had 1/3 of a small pizza.

I was able to eat pizza immediately after my race. By then, he was able to eat half of my pizza!

Looks like I am hitting the limit wih my knee now as well. Still fun times, but it's sore 2 days later.

50+ km and 5+ hours is a good limit for a bunged up knee that did this just a few weeks ago as well. That is a good thing. Congrats.

Thanks Hammer. I think I can't go any longer distance unless a lot of it is pole-hiking. The Killarney loop was fine at a fast trek.

Looking at the download, my speed sure dropped as I felt worse from 25-35k. I didn't take many calories in then. I wonder if forcing some down would have put gas in the tank or made me sicker?
