If I'd known you were heading out then I'd probably have tried to tag along (which probably would have made it even more old-school). Did manage to build up my modern Aranda credentials by visiting a certain local coffee establishment on both days of the weekend...

nice work Blair and sorry didn't realise you were in town. Shows how out of touch I am with OA! What were your impressions of the re-born Aranda Shops?

Ben & Mace showed me what's going on there, especially the 'library'. Kinda cool but I reckon a gourmet grocery or bakery is required to complete the set. And yeah, I feel bad that Blair ended up babysitting me instead of getting a proper run - surprised we didn't run into you guys, given vague similarities in the route.

Would've been good if you'd run with us Jenny - bought the testosterone levels down a notch...

It's a place which so obviously suits the local demographic that it's surprising that no-one's tried it before now, although I gather that a lot of that was about the owner of the building sitting on it for 20 years in the hope of being allowed to redevelop it into apartments.

Incidentally, I didn't realise until reading it in a profile on the weekend that it has a couple of celebrity part-owners (Ellyse Perry and Matt Toomua). Makes a change from owning a pub which seemed to be standard for footballers back in the day.
