A lot of cyclists are using the East Perth Station footbridge, instead of whatever the whacky official detour is. This initially triggered an email to all staff telling us to be careful of extra cyclists in the carpark, but pretty quickly became a stern warning to all cyclists to dismount crossing the footbridge (HAHAHAHahahadismounthahahahahaha *wipes tear*) and yesterday they had three transit guards loitering on the bridge ready to clobber anyone unwise enough to disobey the signage.

Usual escalation of bullshit for a simple closure. :)

I'm supposed to dismount in my work's car park but I figure if the motorists don't have to dismount, I don't either :-)

There was one guy in front of me who used that bridge but another one went straight on although he headed for the Windan Bridge so wasn't affected. The detour isn't that whacky but involves crossing the road at the East Pde off ramp then East Pde to get you onto Kensington St.
