We tried to keep the announcement of the Highlander a secret as long as possible. Now we can't stand the many rumors much longer, so here are the barebone facts.

The Hudson Highlander will happen on Sunday, October 7, 2007. Start at 9 AM somewhere in Harriman State Park, NY. 26.3 k, 3 maps, 1 trail run, electronic punching.

Details about the event and registration will soon be posted on the HVO web site.

shucks, we just can't do it all!!!

Thanks for keeping the Highlander alive. I was hoping it would appear on the schedule at some point, and I knew it would conflict with something. The Fall calendar's got quite a few things going already.

Oh, rats. Same day as a NEOC meet at Diamond Hill, too...

we just have to wait and see.. oops..PLAY

Why would you want to keep it a secret? It just causes more conflicts and makes travel planning more difficult.

Joe:
I will be there.

Good work!

The secret was meant ironically. I just started to take things over from someone else and realized, that the date had not gone out in time. It is unfortunate that there are some date collisions now.

damn. I may be in India for work.

Bernie, let me talk to your boss. We need to sort out the priorities here.

It's a real shame that the HHH conflicts with the Stumble. Having not missed either one ever, I have to make a difficult decision. I'm sure there will be others having to make similar choices.

Too many good events is a far sight better than too few! I will be at HH. I have too much invested to miss!

Samantha:
Oh no! Not the 8th... I have a wedding that I am in that weekend... :( And I had a good thing going in the Highlander.

Wow! So Ross finally popped the question, eh? About time. Congrats!! You could get married at the Highlander and take advantage of the free food for the reception. Or come to the Susquehanna Stumble X and get your first set of designer bath towels. Sweet.

I am scheduling my trip to be home Sat. night before the highlander. I may be jet laged but I will not miss the highlander!!! Too much invested in it as well.

Umm... eddie... outrunning the evidence a bit there, aren't you?

Although, Samantha, are the nuptuals actually taking place on Sunday? If it's just that you may be tired and/or hung over and possibly have to leave directly from the reception and drive some ungodly distance overnight to make it to the starting line, surely it's an easy decision.

eddie:
Yeah, I suppose. If its not Ross, then who is Samantha marrying?!?!
Sep 11, 2007 11:20 PM #
Charlie:
apparently not eddie, unless he is playing it pretty coy.

Samantha:
As far as I know, I am not the one getting married that weekend. :) The wedding is down the Cape on Saturday... Ross and I could maybe drive down Sunday morning....

jjcote:
Oh jeez, that's not a conflict at all!
Sep 12, 2007 4:08 AM #
Cristina:
Sunday morning? Why not Saturday night? How much partying could you possibly do at a wedding on the Cape?
Sep 14, 2007 1:34 AM #
Wyatt:
I'm sure we'll see Sam & Ross's smiling faces, crawling out of car, on Sunday morning.

We need a plan.....

So we don't know the start time yet of the Stumble. Maybe it's 4pm, and Peggy could do both... ;)

And I see the NEOC meet that date is in fact the club champs. I was worried about how I was going to defend M50 against the likes of Tim Parson. Now I won't have to! :-)

Could anyone give me a ride at least partway to and/or from the Highlander? Would want to leave Saturday evening or even Sunday morning, return not much sooner than 5:01 pm on Sunday.
