When has a long range forecast ever been correct? Last weekend had a forecast for tomorrow in Perth of 35 degrees but that's dropped significantly now to a lowly 28. Good news for my second event planned after the rain last weekend seemingly warded off any newcomers (in addition to the Christmas pageant).

Even the weather girl last weekend said something like 'we can expect a return to hot weather next weekend'. I wonder if she's ashamed of the lies she's forced to tell night after night.

Coasts are difficult at that sort of range - I'd be much more comfortable forecasting for Northam seven days out at this time of year than I would for Perth. As for the southeast next weekend, it is highly likely that there is going to be some seriously hot air somewhere, but whether the hottest air tracks over SA/Vic or further north over NSW is less certain.

Looks like I may be able to keep up my track record of being out of the state every time there's a 40 degree day in Adelaide this year.

You might just be swapping an Adelaide 40 for a Penrith one (although mid-high 30s is more likely).

We managed to avoid Perth's hot weather in November on consecutive weekends.
