When I look at the leg without the runners routes, I have to say that for a Swiss runner, going around seems very logical. I guess we do what we are used to doing, that is why most of the Scandinavians went straight... ;-)
Thanks so much for logging on AP, it is just fantastic to read! I wish I could have read your thoughts on orienteering, ideas of a champion and sports in general, when I was focusing on orienteering. As a coach though it forces me to think about news things and it is very motivating!

Yeah, it has some similarity with continental orienteering when it comes to route-choices, because of those steep and slow slopes. Definitively pays-off to invest some extra seconds before rushing under the red line…
