Grandpa Jameson:
how'd they handle the mud?

about as well as any other shoe I have ever had. they shed mud of the bottom pretty quick, but may be helped from the fact that the softer lugs interior are down to about 1-2mm, with little chunks coming off them in the forefoot region. the ones on the outside are like new. don't think they will make it through the winter. got some challenger's for 66 bucks waiting in the wings. they don't suck that bad :)
my experience wearing shoes with deep lugs is not good and is pretty much a waste for me. when it's not super muddy terrain and the ground is harder, they hert my feet and ankles and the mud here in the foothills just sticks like glue. especially with deep lugs. the mud also sticks around the shoe forever. you have to stop sometimes and try to scrape it off if you can find big enough boulders. I was looking at the tread on the upcoming paragrine 6's. they look nar, where as something like a speedcross looks totally unwearable. for some reason I have never been interested in solomon's. so it goes...
