| TheInvisibleLog: | Visited that spot yesterday while looking for the dropped box. I couldn't really say who was right and who was wrong. The map is ambiguous. But from the approach it wouldn't make any difference as you would see both pretty sites quickly. I made a slight amendment to the map.. adding another small cliff line. I also added a much more obvious unmapped feature. It is a good sized depression well over a metre deep. |

| Disco: | It was a nice event Jimbo.
Shame you didn't have enough time to build a toilet block, felt like I didn't get my eleven dollars worth. |

| Bruce: | Great event JiM!
There were more than enough variations. The distance between them was fine. Relays are more exciting when you get to race head to head with other teams, and that is what you provided. |

| blairtrewin: | Assuming you're talking about the 4th last on my course, I missed it but I think that was my fault rather than the control position's. |

| Oxoman: | Cliff control 148 (and cliff line) was probably lower than shown on map. Can't really tell from GPS trace because GPS isn't all that accurate. But it's how it looks relative to other features that is important to the orienteer navigating by land forms. Refer http://picasaweb.google.com/donald.fell/Orienteeri... This is from OTrack which only permits alignment of the GPS trace using two points - the red and blue flags shown.
Sending almost everyone to 131 as the first control was interesting. There seemed to be three distinct route choices. some used the road which was a little less direct but seemed reasonably successful. Some went more or less direct as I did, except I got dragged off slightly to the right by a third group who went far right to look much lower down. I didn't here any complaints about event. It must be those whingeing course 1'ers who think they can locate controls better than the course setter. |
