Good time of year to rest an injury. With this weather and poor footing to easy to make an injury worse. Look forward to you being healed and running again.
I got some band exercises, from a physical therapist, to strengthen the IT area. If you don't already know them I can send a picture of the handout via email.
They explained that rolling and stretching are only temporary if you don't strengthen as well.

I had issues on my right side for a couple months this summer / fall and now on the left. So I very well could have some weak areas!
