He was as bad as me at paddling, he wouldn't have been trying to get you out there in the first place! (In my defence, swell was much more than 2m off Ocean Beach. Middleton beach in the dark I'll put my hand up for genetal incompetence, crossing the inlet at the end of the Denmark race I blame on late-race fatigue :).

So you should have started at Nanarup? It is a pain of a drive but I imagine it would line up a lot better for the paddle back.

Nanarup would have been near-perfect for the wind. I haven't done that paddle (too scary to go alone) but would love to do it with a few competent others.

I think Fletch has hit the nail on the head with his genital incompetence - but he's correct, the swell was much bigger that day although the wind was, from memory, not of any consequence.

The rest of the world was letting that go through to the keeper!

Only because they all assume some pedant would pick it up - but what would happen, I ask, if some pedant didn't? So much unfulfilled banter potential!

My comment was based more at Fletch's 'nads and not his terrible paddling abilities.

Yes, I know. You're as predictable as I am.

I predicted you'd say that.
