another Christmas Day paddler - nice to have the freedom and the place to go!
Great stuff! Maybe Christmas paddling will become the new thing. If climate change is happening, we may as well adapt. I'm still hoping for snow though...
One year for Christmas, my brother and I got red plastic sleds with sides on them....so they were like little row boats, in our creative minds. And Santa (?) had brought little snow shovels ( I am guessing we were around 6 or 7 years old). It was pouring rain and the seasonal pond along the laneway to the farm had formed. We had the brilliant idea to take our new sleds and shovels paddling, since we could not go sledding. A wiser, older member of the family put a stop to that idea once they caught on to what we were scheming.
So this Christmas Day paddle has been a long time in the making.
So jealous!!! No exits for me...only in my mind.
Christmas was a multi-day event chez nous, with Christmas Day being the low key day in terms of family (and elaborate meal) commitments. It is all about pacing oneself.... :)
