I note you posted this before the latest round of flooding - not surprising there's been serious flooding if the rivers were already high before the rain started.
Impressed by some of this month's numbers - Capel Curig is now over 1000 millimetres for the month, and I imagine some of the more exposed Lakes sites are too (Shap's on about 750).
(Didn't hear anyone in Melbourne complaining about heavy rain on Boxing Day morning - not when there are fires to be extinguished).
