You are certainly off to a good start on the season. I am a long way from trying anything as ambitious as a 10k.

You did a sub 23 5k and just added 20 seconds per 5k to the 10k...maybe you should try a half marathon.

Well as Charlie will tell you, maintaining a faster pace over a 46 minute row takes a lot of discipline and conditioning. I'm working on both.

Today's 10k was at a pace of 2:20 per 500m (standard Concept II pace read-out); my 22:49 5k last Thursday was at a pace of 2:17. After 8k this morning, I couldn't even maintain that 2:17 pace for the final 2000m. But I certainly tried!

Charlie has been putting up some amazing times on his rowing machine this Fall. And he just did some sort of run course where he almost set an all-time PR. Not to mention the marathon-distance O events where he finished well up the results list.

I don't think you guys are getting older; you're both getting better! I wish I could say the same for myself.

I am getting better, but I think that is mostly a measure of how far I had let myself go. Chitown, you seem to be getting quite a bit better too. Give yourself credit!
