I still miss that white stuff on the ground. Seems you had a wonderful outing there :)

We now finally have gotten a little snow - but not enough for 'natural' skiing yet. There are a few shortish artificial snow tracks but that´s not for me...

Nice photos and write-up Bash. Thanks again for organizing it all.

Looks fantastic! I had one of my best New Years eve few years back camping out with a big husky friend.

Fantastic photos! I love the contrast of the neon clothes against the snowy background.

Goose's winter camping tent and expertise made this happen - thank you! Everyone else on the trip did their part to help it go smoothly by arriving well prepared, ready to pitch in and (most importantly) accompanied by an excess of yummy food. It was lots of fun and I'd love to get out again one of these days.

In case you didn't see it on 'Bent's log, he made an awesome video with his Christmas present GoPro.

Great video! Looks like fun! What's all that white stuff?

There isn't much of it here at home!

There's plenty in Midhurst, so I expect Hardwood, Copeland etc have lots.

Apparently farther North and even East (Huntsville) there's not much either?!?

Gravenhurst got a pre-Christmas 30+ cm storm that mostly missed Huntsville and Barrie. That provided a great base for the New Year's squalls. It's snowy here - 10-ish cm - but the snow is hard and crusty so it's better for snowshoes. I should try Albion Hills, I guess. We'll have to drive north to Highlands Nordic or Hardwood soon!

When we went fishing on 23rd there was still plenty of snow in Gravenhurst/Bracebridge, but by the time we got to Carnarvon there was nothing... So the snow didn't make it all that far from the lake (G.Bay)

We've had a lot in Midhurst over the last week... I assume north of us as well, but maybe not.

Very cool - our New Year's party was in the epicentre of snow for our region. Lucky! Sadly, our home is not - nor is yours. At least we can both drive to skiing now though.

Happy New Year Bash, Bent et al ! Oh how I wish we had some of that white stuff. Every Irish kid prays for it every year. Cool Video and even cooler photos

Come visit Canada! However, pick another year when it will hopefully be snowier. El Niño is winning this winter so far.

Come to Midhurst next week, when the 'polar vortex' stomps all over El Niño
