Your wish has come true! Laramie Daze will be making a return this summer, in conjunction with three National Event ranking days. Beginning on June 29, there will be 3 days of Laramie Daze training and then 3 National Event days on July 2-4. The website will be up and running in the coming weeks, but mark your calendar for the epic summer vacation.

A slight correction: there will be 3 days of Laramie cowboy style O' (think mass starts), and not 3 daze of training. We know there will be many wildflowers, and we can only hope there will be many orienteers who want to see what Wyoming looks like in non solar eclipse conditions.

And for all those folks who have asked me over the years: "Is the Laramie Range" basically just like Glen Affric, just spelled different?", I now have the answer. It really isn't like Glen Affric at all. ; )

Sweet!! Will there be the one cowboy relay as well?

Swampfox:
A One Cowboy Relay is quite likely, and if I had to flip a coin and didn't know whether it was going to end up heads or tails, the probable venue would be Pitcher Hill, with its lush glades of sage and occasional rock complication (complication here in the sense of a fine time piece.) The only good reason I can think of offhand to not do a One Cowboy Relay would be to do a One Cowgirl Relay instead--yee-haw!

I will come fore sure if Swampfox survives the winter with Black Beast.
I will help, in any useful role if needed.

I am confident that Kris (our estimable Meet Director) can think of some useful opportunities where Baltering talents would be invaluable.

The after effects of having the Black Beast over-wintering (for 2 weeks) with me already seem to be wearing off, and I am practically a new man. As one example, when I hear barking, I no longer instinctively reach for a leash in preparation for walking the Black Beast.

Winter is nice, but with the prospects of a Rocky Mountain O' Festival, we can all begin to look forward to summer!

This morning I was definitely on the verge of looking forward to summer. Looking out the window I found 25cm of new snow that needed shoveling...

Just before starting to look forward to summer I realized there was still winter and skiing to look forward to and that it had actually just arrived.

Conclusion: Looking forward to summer will be postponed at least until March.

Any chance of a night O (us champs even) some time doing the events?

Is there interest in informal afternoon training sessions on the first few days of the event? (Line O, corridor O, etc., very informal, no cost)

I am so upset at the date for this. When will I get my first sweet trip to Laramie?

Everything about this sounds wonderful.

@becks - sorry to hear that you have a conflict. That's a shame. But those of us who start school in early August are thrilled by the early date.

well, the only suggestion for dates, if not for now, maybe future, is to have it all in the 4th July week, (such as July 5-7), so we only need to take 3 days off from work, for those with limited vacation days :)

"(such as July 5-7)" not for finance folks! August!

In Laramie, one of the considerations is the mosquito season. And depending on the year, it can be very important.
