There is a permanent course (explanatory text) at Hamlin Park.

I think Cascade OC has more permanent courses than any other club in North America. Full list of publicly accessible courses is here (some courses are on scout/youth camps and not generally open to the public).

Permanent courses make for great training - negligible cost, nearly always available (most venues are closed at night ...).

Yeah! We saw a bunch of the markers. We did no pre-planning, so I did not know and did not bring maps. Had I only known beforehand ...

The club will be putting QR codes on some posts (the control markers) in some parks. These QR codes will lead to the permanent courses web page. From there a park visitor should be able to download a PDF of the map onto their device. Not quite the same as a paper map, but probably pretty good for illustrating what the sport is.
