Very nice of you, and a good idea. I suppose I should try to figure out how to do it here, since I don't get to Gallows Lane very often.
Took at most 5 minutes on rhe phone, quick and easy, and the next thing you knew, we were watching an Italian show.
I did sign up, but since it is Comcast it was considerably more than 5 minutes on the phone, and the upshot is that there is just one channel, so I'm not sure how satisfying it will be. Worth trying, though, and thanks for checking it out for me and recommending it. I may yet show up in Litchfield to watch with Lina.
Watched part of what is more or less a soap opera last night. With just one channel, no choices on what to watch. Listening comprehension is pretty weak, which is the point. I can see that it will help.
Listening comprehension has always been my weakest aspect for the languages that I have partial knowledge of (and some would probably argue that that applies to English as well).
On that topic, are you familiar with this
Yes, I am, but it is way too slow for me to get much benefit at this point in the game. I tried it for a while but was not sufficiently entertained. Watching movies or TV where they are talking at warp speed, interrupting each other, fighting background noise - now there is a robust test. I think I know enough now that watching TV for half an hour a day would make a big difference.
And listening comprehension is certainly my biggest problem with English.
