I just noticed couple of banners/ads in the right corner of the page and thought that it was cool! Is AP starting to have some commercial value for those in the buisness world?

Hopefully some of this dinero goes to sponsor the Attackpoint Sprint Series next year.

Give Kenny a break: I'm sure the web hosting for Attackpoint is on the expensive side. And if you don't want to see the ads, then block them. I have to say, 'ads' and 'cool' are not closely associated in my mind...

ok, let's put it this way...
in my mind it is 'cool' that this page has a certain value that Ken can derive benefits from, be it ads or some other type of e-commerce!

I'm not criticizing the ads at all, especially since I'm sure Kenny gets few charitable donations to help defray the costs of putting on this site. And his AP salary probably isn't that high either.

But, I personally think it would be cool if the Sprint Series branded with a commercial sponsor, and I'd think considering how instrumental AP has been the first time around, that AP should get a discounted symbolic rate from the grand SS steering committee should it ever come to that.

This brings up a question I've had for awhile.... Obviously, it takes both time and money to host AP and maintain the code. Other than these new ads, is there any funding for AP? Or is it an extremely generous gift from Ken to the rest of us?

There have been random donation drives in the past, but it is basically an extremely generous gift from Kenny, not only in the awesome service he is providing us, but also in the cold hard cash it takes to keep a site like this online. I am glad to see that Kenny has managed to fit the ads in so nicely, and I hope that we can all contribute to making them worth the space they are taking up on the page.
