Can I trade you? Given that you woke up my previous Garmin, can you do the same with this one? 310XT and I can't get it to talk to the laptop. ANT agent just doesn't react, and garmin express says initialising (but it's lying) and garmin connect says download garmin express, and AP is only picking up old activities, and I say WHAT!!!!

parkrun, the hardest bit is getting the spelling right, that's what Dooby struggles with, though granted he seems to be sharp at the actual running part. Bring your barcode with you. You don't need it at the start - you need it at the end. When you cross the line they'll hand you a little position token, take that to a scanner person, and they'll scan you plus your position token. You keep your own barcode forever, and you give them back the position token. Oh make sure you print your barcode; phones don't scan. I recommend laminating your barcode in case of excessive precipitation / perspiration but you can always reprint more. Enjoy :)

Luckily it's easier to say parkrun than spell it (although I think my latest mistake might have been caused by autocorrect on a laptop) so there'll be no issues once there.

Pretty simple process as Susan has explained. You just have to turn up at the start line, no registration before the start.

I just put my barcode in a small plastic bag in my pocket.

Ah ill have to think up a better way for next time so, i havent laminated and i dont have a pocket in my shorts. Maybe under my insoles or something like that.

Ah so no issues before hand just get to the start line and worry about things afterwards then.

And Susan i think when you connect with garmin connect it should allow you pick a new device? if not with the ant+ device then try with the cable if thats an option?

Could try for a tattoo?
With over 50 parkruns to her name Susan might consider that option.

Santa brought me a wristband. It's the next best thing.

Joshosh - you can always leave your barcode in the car and retrieve it post-run pre-scan. Just prepare to be accosted because they'll think you're leaving with their precious token. Thanks for advice - garmin connect is insistent I use garmin express but I'll try again with the ant agent too. And a cable.

Ah something as stylish as this Dooby?

A car?! im a student after all :P

Garmin express should work with the cable to set it up at least and as soon as Garmin express recognizes it then AP should also register that its there (even via cable)

Fair enough! Still arguing with garmin express; I think this relationship is close to breaking point. The program just won't run. Can't figure out manual upload either. I am bringing it to a man in a shop tomorrow. At least ranting to him might make me feel better.

Show him an emotional susan with an empty day on AP and im sure he will understand

Took me a while to get garmin express to like my old forerunner recently.

All you need is to get data to garmin connect and the new sync function when adding training does the rest, easy. But getting stuff off watch is the 1st thing.

Try the garmin forums, others will have had the same problem.
