Totally agree about the number of cars - this year seemed particularly bad. Our leg 5-6 went along the Royal Mile straight across Southbridge. In the first Edinburgh City Race anyone who tried to that was disqualified as it was considered too hazardous. I'm pretty sure that traffic levels in central Edinburgh have gone up rather than down in the intervening period.
I still don't understand why urban races in the UK are so often on Saturday rather than Sunday.
The road I had real trouble crossing was South Bridge (Street?) between Controls 14 and 15 on my course. I wasn't competing so was happy to stand and wait, but if I was competing I would have been pretty pissed off about having to wait. I can't take these races seriously when this happens.
