I think JD uses a factor of .75? ITs certainly something, even tho to an accomplished rider like you it seems like nothing.
I think an easy run is only 0.2 . . . I guess I should track it as far as intensity points to make sure I'm not overtrained. it certainly makes weight management easier.
in 2nd edition,under cross-training, he assigns cycling as being .66 of equivalent run.
So an easy ride is .66 of an easy run. So 9 miles cycling easy would be equivalent to 6 miles easy run. Which for you is obviously not true, nor desirable.
definitely not, because cycling does not help adapt all the connective tissue used for running. I feel a lot more durable after six weeks of base, and running 6/7 days per week for the first time in my life, that I can recall, except maybe for 8th grade track. I'll be curious how the body responds to the first R workout next week.
