I've looked more closely at local fields and woods in the past 2 days and seen potential I'd turned my back on. The snow of Sunday the 17th (which we experienced to 4" in the New Bedford area) has made a lasting difference here, given the cold we had. I saw that yesterday in Nottingcook woods for classic and today for skating in Concord in shaded field areas.

I noted the need to keep skis, boots, poles in the car - had removed them. It's not good right out the back door. No new snow in sight but make it continue to work as you have been doing since the first snow of Dec 29th.

A work colleague was at Gunstock over the weekend & noted 12k of OK skate trails if one wanted to drive.

The woodstrails are surprisingly soft but firm. But that will all change after todays/tomorrows warm-up.
