Sorry to hear that your birthday night-O didn't go to plan :( Hope everything is feeling back to normal again soon. By the way, I use only a contact lens in my right eye for orienteering (I am -1 in left and -1.25 in right) and think it works quite well for me, although my optician said that it would be best to just practice reading the map with contact lenses in both eyes (effectively training your eyes since they have to work a little bit harder to read when wearing contact lenses for short-sightedness). I haven't really tried this yet. If you wear short-sighted contact lenses all day anyway, I guess you would be training your eyes to read with lenses in during day-to-day things already but if you're like me and only wear them for O, then it might be worth experimenting :)

Not quite sure how bad the damage is yet, but I'll certainly give it a few days before I try doing anything :-( Definitely worth testing some options out with the lenses - maybe something to play with to keep me sane over the next wee while :)

Big Jon:
I tried one-lens tonight at Høiås - in my right (dominant) eye. Worked great for map reading - best I've felt for a long time, helped by a 7.5K special print from Eva ;-) , terrain running felt a little bit compromised - ground just felt a bit fuzzy, but this could have just been Høiås - its bloody brutal in places...
